Following impressive performances at the recent Senior Flag Football National Championships in Canberra and the inaugural Junior National Flag Football Championships in Sydney, a strong contingent of Queensland athletes have earned selection in the national Flag Football squads ahead of the upcoming international tour.

The national championships provided a platform for Queensland's emerging and established players to showcase their skills and dedication against the best of the rest with our Sundevils performing with distinction.

From the dynamic plays of our junior athletes in Blacktown through to the strategic prowess of the senior teams in Canberra, Queensland's presence was once again felt strongly across the competition.

Queensland’s significant representation in the national teams reflects the hard work and commitment within the American Football Queensland (AFQ) community.

“The selection of these players is a clear recognition of their talent and the strength of flag football development in the state.”

Said American Football Queensland President James Cowlishaw

“As a code, we continue to push our Flag and tackle programs across the state, providing athletes of all ages and abilities, along with those from other codes interested in trying American Football in its various games, wherever they may live.”

“The continued success of our teams on the national stage, coupled with the spectacular growth of our junior programs is testament to the dedication of our officials and coaches who work tirelessly to provide opportunities for our players to excel and improve their skill levels.”

As our Queensland athletes to join their national teammates, we wish them the very best as they prepare to take on the United States in Los Angeles this June.
