American Football Queensland (AFQ) is proud to release our Draft Strategic Plan (2025–2029), developed in collaboration with American Football Australia, affiliate members, and key stakeholders. This plan outlines the priorities and initiatives that will guide the growth and success of our sport across Queensland.
The plan is built around four strategic pillars:

Participation: Increasing the number of Queenslanders playing American Football through inclusive, high-quality programs, particularly in schools and community clubs.

Experience: Delivering a high-quality experience for all participants, supported by improved facilities, coaching standards, and stronger club engagement.

Pathways: Creating clear, structured pathways for players, coaches, and officials from grassroots through to elite levels, while supporting transitions into leadership and governance roles.

Performance: Building strong governance, sustainable funding, and commercial partnerships to prepare AFQ and its clubs for long-term success, including opportunities leading into the 2032 Olympics.
We want this to be a plan for the community, shaped by the community.
